Blog at WordPress. My friend Chandra's daughter Dani was showing her new horse KC. So, I went on Saturday which was the last day of the show.

As it turns out, it was the championship day. I got there early enough to be in the stall area when the riders, trainers, and grooms were all busy as little bees getting ready for the show ring. Riders were sitting still for makeup to be applied, hair pulled back into buns, jewelry put on and horses were being groomed, saddled, and warmed up before they entered the show ring. I realized I missed horse shows so much more than I thought. The buzz in the stall area and the warm-up ring are contagious.

Trainers are doing their last bit of instructions while riders get their game faces on. I stood by the arena gates and watched a few classes. I watched riders be as still as statues while trying to cue their horses for the appropriate gaits without a noticeable movement.

Horses moving so elegantly that it looked like they were floating. It was really beautiful. Come and join us in the beautiful state of Colorado for a vacation AND a horse show!
