A Harlandale Independent School District teacher has been placed on leave for a photo posted on Facebook that some administrators deemed possibly inappropriate. The district declined to discuss the nature of the photo posted on the Facebook profile of Cassandra Rios , a teacher, coach and dance sponsor at McCollum High School. Jasmine Lopez, who said she was one of the seniors in the photo, said Sunday that Rios didn't post the photo, but was tagged by another student on Facebook.
The photo she sent the Express-News shows a group of young women wearing hats scribbled with risque jokes that Dick's staffers wrote on them, which is commonly done to patrons at the restaurant on the Riverwalk. Rios could not be reached for comment, but district spokeswoman Leslie Garza said some supporters of Rios have spoken to board members at meetings about the matter.
